Allium Firmament
Raised by A. Langedijk from a cross between A. atropurpureum and A. christophii. The flowers are deep purple with a metallic sheen, about 4-5” (10-12.5 cm)across, characteristically quite flat at the base. The foliage is disappearing at flowering time in June. The flowering height is 24-30” (60-75cm). A very good late flowering form with a deep colour.
Planting instructions
Plant singly, or in small ‘swarms’ 4-5” (10-12.5cm) deep in sunny flower beds in well drained soil in the sun. Plant so the drying foliage is camouflaged in the summer.
