Allium karataviense Ivory Queen
A selection from amongst plants of Allium karataviense, so much of that applies. The broad, lined leaves are grey-green with silvery bloom and a reddish edge line, the stem is short and sturdy with a pale apple white flower about 3-4” (7.5-12 cm) across some 4-8” (12-24 cm) from the ground in May and early June. Disappearing into dormancy by July when they need a warm dry rest. Apple white flowers in late May and June, 10” (25 cm) tall.
Planting instructions
Plant the bulbs 4” deep and about the same apart, in small groups in sunny, well drained even in a gravely area sites. Avoid handling the leaves and rubbing off the bloom.
