Brimeura amethystina
The RHS Award of Garden Merit
Known also as Spanish Hyacinth, Brimeura amethystina comes from largely limestone areas in the Pyrenees and N.E. Spain and in Slovenia and Croatia. They look not unlike small bluebells, with slender stems carrying bright blue tubular flowers, about 8” high and long light green leaves growing from the ground. Loved by butterflies they flower in May to June, and are easy to grow in a well-drained sunny spot, happy with a dry summer dormancy.
Planting instructions
Plant in a well drained position, 2-3” (5-7.5cm) apart in sun or part shade.
