Corydalis flexuosa Purple Leaf form
A dark blue cultivar of Corydalis flexuosa, which in a position that receives direct light will take on a wonderful beetroot purple blue hue. They love a moist but well drained, neutral to acid, leafy soil. A beautiful, delicate looking plant but one that is reputed not to be easy to keep going from year to year, though frequent division of the plant does seem to help. The flowers last ages in water for an unusual display and have a scent of coconut about them
Planting instructions
Plant 2" (4-5cm) deep in humus rich, well drained soil in a partial shade encouraging the plant to root into the surrounding soil. They can do well in a rock garden, where single plants can be given attention to make sure they do not get lost amongst other plants. The plants divide naturally and they seem to thrive better on frequent division.
