Crocus chrysanthus Cream Beauty
A creamy flower with a deep golden throat and bright orange stigmas, brushed with charcoal on the back, this crocus grows to 3" (7.5cm) with grey green leaves about 8” (20cm) long. Raised by Mr G H Hageman of Heemstede, Holland. As with other C. chrysanthus this form likes to be undisturbed in a well-drained, sunny or part shady position with poor or moderately fertile soil. It will naturalise in such conditions and carries 3 to 4 flowers per corm. Cream flowers in February/March.
Planting instructions
Plant 8-10 cm (3-4in) deep in a small tight groups, 2 or 3 bulbs only 1.5” (4cm) apart repeated at larger intervals. Full sun and gritty, well drained soil. Do beware of mice and squirrel attack.
