Crocus chrysanthus Snow Bunting

From a distance, C.chrysanthus Snow Bunting looks pure white, with a yellow centre but closer to it is more ivory with a very faint purple blush on the outside of the petals. It has a delicate musky scent and bright yellow orangey anthers. Raised by E A Bowles. Like all C.chrysanthus it grows best in poor to moderately fertile soil which is well drained. While it will grow and bloom in shade, it needs sun to open and prefers to be left undisturbed. Ivory white flowers in February / March.
Planting instructions
Plant 8-10 cm (3-4in) deep in a small tight groups, 2 or 3 bulbs only 1.5” apart repeated at larger intervals. Full sun and gritty, well drained soil. Do beware of mice and squirrel attack.
