Cyclamen tubers do best in drier sites in lighter soils that have a content of humus material or leafmould. Though initially quite expensive (they are often quite old plants already) they can be expected to live many years and the autumn flowering forms can reach dinner plate size and a great age. They are in leaf through all the winter and spring months so do take the attractive foliage into account and aim for a varied green tapestry. These are all completely hardy and nursery-grown.
