These plants originate from the high mountains of central Africa and are consequently only moderately hardy. They are, however, easy to lift once the first frosts have browned the foliage and, kept dry through winter, survive many years. The leaves are shaped like lovely pleated fans and the much admired white flowers with a deep burgundy eye have a remarkable and heady scent. They make good cut flowers. September 30"
Planting instructions
A 12" pot will need about 7 - 10 bulbs. Do buy enough to keep some back to plant late in late May for a longer display into the cooler autumn days. Plant in an open more moist position in the garden and in the south at least are hardy and need no protection.
