Gladiolus “The Bride” has gleaming white flowers each with a greenish centre, and planted in clumps gives structure to a border, drawing the eye especially during the summer evenings. Standing about 18” (45cm) high it does not need support, and makes good cut flowers. They can grow away quickly in Spring, however, and an early mild spell may result in foliage being susceptible to severe frost, so mulching is possibly needed.
Planting instructions
Plant in fertile, well drained soil, 4” (10cm) deep, 4” (10cm) apart in clumps, with added grit if drainage is not good. Apply a high-potash liquid fertiliser when spikes reach about 6” (15cm).
