Hedychium densiflorum Assam Orange
Orange flowered member of the ginger family. Hardy here in past few winters, the form collected by Kingdon Ward in 1938 with orange flowers. Aug 30" (75cm). Roots, flowers and sap scented of ginger. Great for the jungle effect.
Planting instructions
Plant outside in sheltered sunny gardens, or pot and protect in winter. Sunny site with enough water in summer. In frost prone areas, apply a deep winter mulch (approx 4" (10cm) eg mushroom compost. Allow 18" spread.
