This is from the range of Xiphium Irises (Spanish Iris) created in the Netherlands in 1891. Used by florists to good effect but equally good in the garden, and not expensive. Iris Gypsy Beauty has flowers the colour of methylated spirits (try methyl blue) with blue grey falls in the late spring and summer. May / June 18-24" (45-60cm).
Planting instructions
Plant them 4" (10cm) deep and 4-6" (10-15cm) apart in a well drained position in full sun or very light shade. Water well on planting, and thereafter moderately.
