Not black at all, but deep claret red with petals recurved to expose the pale green centre to the flower. Later flowering in July/August to 40".
Planting instructions
Plant 5-6 " deep in very well prepared soil or in big pots. Sun or part shade.
Be careful of the lily beetle (for which we have no answer). Vigilance in picking off the larvae and squashing any adults is all that works without chemicals.
