Tulipa Maja
Maja is a late-blooming fringed form of a single cottage tulip introduced in 1903. It is pale yellow throughout with a restrained frill to its petals. Maja (Maia) was the Greek goddess of spring and rebirth, giving her name to the month of May. Suitably, therefore. T. Maja blooms in early May, standing about 20” (50cm) tall on strong stems, and returns reliably for several years. The flowers are long lasting and are good for cutting.
Looks good with any purple, red or even orange.
