Showwinner is a hybrid of T.kaufmanniana and T. gregii and has both the pointy petals of the former and the mottled foliage of the latter. The flower is scarlet red with grey-green leaves marked with a darker mauvy-green. In full sun they will open out flat. They prefer shelter from wind, although after some days their leaves will recover from a blow. They will come back for several years in a well-drained site with rich soil and like either full sun or part shade. They grow to 9” (22cm) and are ideal for window boxes or raised beds.
Planting instruction
Plant 6” (15cm) deep and 6” (15cm) apart in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny position.
