The parentage of this hybrid means that while it is still a big flower at about 6” (15cm) across it flowers rather earlier than the other large-headed Alliums when it is not quite so tall. The flowers are rosy lilac with extended silvery white stamens providing a halo like sheen, coupled with glossy green strap-like leaves.
The Allium Early Emperor bulbs should be planted about 5-6" (12-15 cm) deep in good, fertile, well drained soil in a sunny situation as they are from very big bulbs and benefit from planting deep to ensure that the stems do not wobble.
