Narcissus Topolino is small, vigorous and as close as one can now get in commercial stocks to N. lobularis, the wild N. pseudonarcissus.
Narcissus Topolino has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.
Narcissus Topolino bulbs should be planted 4" deep (10cm) and 2-3" (5-8cm) apart in any reasonable soil or in grass, where they will remain cool, moist and safe from activity above them in the summer. Alternatively pot into John Innes No 2 for early colour and plant out in the garden later. Do not be tempted to cut back or tidy the foliage after flowering as this period of replenishment of the bulb''s starchy food reserves is critical to future flowering. A liquid feed while starchy leaves are still green will benefit clumps in poorer soil.
