Chionodoxa forbesii Blue Giant is larger flowered than Chionodoxa.luciliae, with a more noticeable central white throat. The Chionodoxa flower profusely and provided a very good early show in a variety of situations, often accentuating the other more dramatic spring flowering bulbs with which they are planted. This has recently been reclassified as Scilla forbesii.
Chionodoxa forbesii Blue Giant bulbs should be planted 2" (5cm) deep and 2-3" (5-8cm) apart (or 15 per square foot) in a sunny site with direct spring light in well drained soil where it might be shaded and dry in summer.
