A natural fly trap when in flower in the late spring or early summer. The plant that I think best replicates something from the animal kingdom with a thick fleshy flower covered in hairs that direct the attracted flies towards their pollination duties. Very stinky but fascinating. Probably not quite hardy, they have survived for years in an unheated greenhouse planted in the soil here and an Instagrammer claims that he grows them out of doors in Holland.

Planting Instructions

These grow strongly in our cold greenhouse with 5" (12cm) soil over the bulb (also does well in limey conditions) in a well drained sunny position.
