Deciduous and variegated with large pale blue flowers set off by apparently silvery foliage - this is actually an unusual broad white edge to the leaves. Very striking indeed. From 1 litre pots.

Planting Instructions

With South African origins the Agapanthus are all sun lovers, but there they would be used to summer rainfall so we suggest they will do better where they aren't too dry. Hence lots of organic matter in the soil to hold the moisture will pay dividends. These were divisions of bigger plants potted last autumn. They will flower this summer but flowering in future years will be progressively more impressive. These have variegated foliage with a silver stripe. The flowers are silvery blue about 28" (70 cm) tall. With the evergreen habit these will not be as frost tolerant as the deciduous forms. The bigger forms need planting about 12" (30cm) apart. To get a more immediately full effect you might cram them in rather tighter together in pots. Remember though to give the pot regular watering through the summer and some liquid feed occasionally. Plant them a little deeper than currently potted (1-2" or 25-50 mm) in good light and allow for a spread of 18" (45cm) by the third year.
