Alstroemeria psittacina (pulchella)

In our heavier soils these flower late in the year often in October, though it seems that in lighter soils they can flower from July. Supplied as pot grown plants from 1 litre pots. They can cope with some shade and in cold areas they may need mulching in their first winter. Red and green trumpets.  

Planting Instructions

May be slightly tender but we know them to grow in some very cold gardens very well. Best planted 4"-5" (10-12cm) in rich soil in a warm, sheltered and sunny site to establish. Mulch in cold gardens in the winter. Never very happy on very limey soils.
