Erica × darleyensis

Erica × darleyensis is one of the most valuable winter-flowering shrubs for the garden. Blooming from late autumn through to spring, it produces masses of delicate bell-shaped flowers in shades of white, pink or deep cerise at a time when very little else is in colour.

Low-growing and evergreen, it forms a neat, spreading mound of fine needle-like foliage that provides structure all year round. Exceptionally hardy and easy to grow, it thrives in well-drained soil and performs beautifully in borders, rockeries, gravel gardens and containers.

Unlike many heathers, Erica × darleyensis is tolerant of neutral to slightly alkaline soils, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of gardens.

A magnet for early bees and pollinators, this winter-flowering favourite is both practical and quietly spectacular — bringing colour, texture and life to the garden when it’s needed most.
