Allium karataviense Red Giant Star is best grown in tight clumps, planting the bulbs 5" deep in a sunny site, maybe even in a gravely area about. Disappearing into dormancy by July when they need a warm dry rest. Avoid handling the leaves and rubbing off the bloom.
