Tulipa Verona Sunrise is a tulip of rare and romantic charm, its double blooms unfolding in layers of soft primrose yellow flushed with warm apricot and rose-pink hues — like the sky at dawn over an Italian hillside. As the flowers mature, the colour deepens into rich tones, creating a captivating blend that shifts beautifully through the season. With its peony-like fullness and delicate fragrance, this tulip brings a gentle elegance to spring borders and containers alike. Strong stems make it excellent for cutting, allowing you to bring its early-morning glow indoors. A true delight for those who love tulips with a painterly palette and a touch of the poetic.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant bulbs in autumn, from September to November, before the first hard frost.

Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. Excellent for containers, window boxes, or sunny borders where its early flowers can be appreciated up close.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Leave 8–10 cm (3–4 inches) between bulbs.
  • Postion: Place bulbs with the pointy end facing upward.

Watering:
Water well after planting to settle the soil. Rainfall is usually sufficient through winter, but avoid letting pots dry out entirely.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove faded blooms to conserve energy.
  • Let the leaves die back naturally to nourish the bulb for next year.
  • Feed potted tulips in early spring with a balanced liquid fertiliser for best performance.

Top Tip:
Plant in groups of 5 or more for a full, romantic display. Verona Sunrise also makes a lovely cut flower, bringing colour and fragrance indoors in early spring.
