Compact, generous and full of charm, Rosa ‘PatioHit’® Red is the perfect little rose for gifting or treating yourself. Grown in a neat 13cm pot and wrapped in a simple paper sleeve, it arrives as a ready-made present – just add a card.

Clusters of rich red blooms are held above fresh, glossy foliage on a naturally compact plant, making it ideal for windowsills, kitchen tables, doorstep displays or a small patio table. It looks equally at home indoors in a cool, bright room or outside in a sheltered spot when the weather is kind.

Unlike many “throwaway” gift plants, ‘PatioHit’® is a true garden rose in miniature form – with a little care, it can give you flowers for many weeks, and later on it can be planted out into a container or border for longer-term enjoyment.

Whether you’re marking a birthday, saying thank you or simply adding a splash of classic red to your home, this charming patio rose in its paper sleeve has the feel of a florist bouquet with the staying power of a plant.

Planting Instructions

Position & Light

  • On arrival, choose a bright spot with plenty of light.
  • Indoors: a cool, bright room or windowsill out of very hot, direct midday sun.
  • Outdoors (milder weather): a sunny, sheltered patio or doorstep is ideal. Protect from cold winds and late frost.

Temperature

  • Happy at normal cool room temperatures, but avoid hot, dry locations.
  • Indoors, keep away from radiators, fires and very warm south-facing windows.
  • In season, it will enjoy being outside during mild spring and summer weather.

Watering

  • Keep the compost evenly moist:
    • Water when the top of the compost feels slightly dry to the touch.
    • Allow excess water to drain away – don’t leave the pot sitting in water.
  • In warm rooms or sunny positions, you may need to check more often.

Feeding

  • While in bloom, feed every 2–3 weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser for flowering plants or roses, following the instructions on the bottle.
  • Regular light feeding will encourage more buds and repeat flowering.

Flowering Time & Height

  • Supplied in bud or flower for an almost instant display.
  • With good light, regular watering and feeding, you can enjoy repeated flushes of bloom through the season.
  • Typical height around 25–40 cm (10–16"), depending on conditions.

Deadheading & General Care

  • Remove faded flowers by snipping just above a healthy leaf – this keeps the plant tidy and encourages fresh blooms.
  • Gently remove any yellowing leaves and keep the foliage dry when watering to help prevent disease.

Planting Outside – Longer-Term

  • Once flowering indoors has finished and the risk of frost has passed, you can:
    • Plant into a larger container with good-quality compost, or
    • Plant into a sunny, well-drained spot in the garden.
  • Water regularly while it establishes and continue to feed through the growing season.
  • As a compact patio rose, it can go on to give you flowers for several summers with basic rose care (light pruning, feeding, and watering).

Safety

  • As with all roses, be aware of thorns – keep out of easy reach of small children.
  • This is an ornamental plant and not intended for consumption.
