Delicate, romantic and full of charm, Geum ‘Pink Petticoats’ produces an abundance of soft, semi-double blush-pink flowers held gracefully above neat clumps of fresh green foliage.

Each flower is beautifully formed with gently ruffled petals, creating a light and airy effect that brings softness and movement to borders. Flowering over a long period from late spring into early summer, this variety is perfect for adding subtle colour and texture to planting schemes.

Compact and easy to grow, Geum ‘Pink Petticoats’ is ideal for the front of borders, cottage garden planting, or containers, where its gentle tones pair beautifully with pastel shades and ornamental grasses. It is also highly attractive to bees and pollinators, making it a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

Supplied as a strong 2 litre plant, it will establish quickly and provide a reliable display year after year.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Geum in spring or autumn when the soil is workable. Avoid planting during periods of hard frost or when the ground is waterlogged.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with moist but well-drained soil. Geums are perfect for borders, cottage gardens and containers, and prefer a spot that does not dry out completely in summer.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant so the top of the rootball sits level with the soil surface.
  • Spacing: Space plants about 30–40 cm (12–16 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve soil with garden compost or organic matter to retain moisture while maintaining good drainage.

Watering:
Water well after planting and keep the soil consistently moist while establishing. During dry spells, water regularly to keep plants healthy and flowering well.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Deadhead regularly to encourage continued flowering.
  • Cut back stems after flowering to promote fresh growth and potential repeat blooms.
  • Divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour.

Top Tip:
Plant alongside soft pastel perennials or ornamental grasses for a relaxed, cottage garden look with long-lasting seasonal interest.
