Lilium ‘Tribal Kiss’ is a real head-turner for summer—crisp white, upward-facing blooms with a deep maroon centre that “bursts” into bold speckling, finished with dark anthers for extra drama. It’s an Asiatic hybrid, so you can expect strong, sturdy stems and a reliable performance in the garden, whether you’re planting into borders or dressing up pots and containers.

Flowering through early to mid-summer, ‘Tribal Kiss’ is also excellent for cutting gardens—those upright blooms look superb in a vase and bring a modern, high-contrast look to arrangements. Some sellers describe it as lightly fragrant, too.

Pet note: True lilies (Lilium) are extremely toxic to cats—please plant well away from areas cats can access.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant bulbs in autumn (ideal) or from autumn to spring, avoiding periods when the ground is frozen or waterlogged.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. Lilies dislike sitting in winter wet, so drainage is key. Ideal for borders, pots and containers, and cutting gardens.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs around 15–20 cm deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs about 20 cm apart.
  • Soil Prep: If your soil is heavy, add horticultural grit to improve drainage and mix in a little garden compost to help hold moisture during summer growth.

Watering:
Water in well after planting. Keep soil lightly moist as shoots appear and during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Mulch in spring to help conserve moisture and keep roots cool.
  • Deadhead after flowering, but leave stems and foliage until they yellow naturally to feed the bulb for next year.
  • In exposed spots, use a discreet stake if needed as stems get taller.

Top Tip:
Plant Lilium ‘Tribal Kiss’ in small groups for maximum impact and pair with silvery foliage, ornamental grasses or purple and pink perennials to make the maroon centres really pop.
