Collection contains: 1 × Nerine bowdenii, 1 × Nerine ‘Pearls of Cherry’, 1 × Nerine undulata ‘Petronella’.

The Nerine Trio Collection is made for anyone who loves a proper late-season finale. Nerines are famous for their sparkling, starry “spider-lily” flowers on strong stems, bringing colour and elegance from September into November when so much else is winding down.

This set gives you three contrasting looks:

  • Nerine bowdenii – the classic, reliable autumn nerine; the hardiest choice for many UK gardens in a warm, free-draining spot.
  • Nerine ‘Pearls of Cherry’deep cherry / rose-pink blooms with lightly crimped petals and a beautiful sheen; a real head-turner and excellent for cutting.
  • Nerine undulata ‘Petronella’ – graceful soft pink flowers with wavy (undulating) petals, often best treated as tender to half-hardy and ideal for pots so you can protect it in winter.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant dry Nerine bulbs in late summer to early autumn for autumn flowering. In colder areas, planting into pots is ideal so they can be protected from winter wet and hard frosts.

Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny, warm, sheltered position with very well-drained soil (a south- or west-facing wall is perfect). Nerines dislike winter wet and will flower best where the bulbs can “bake” in summer warmth.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs shallowly so the neck/top of the bulb is at or just above the soil surface (planting too deep can reduce flowering).
  • Spacing: Space bulbs around 10–15 cm apart.
  • Soil Prep: If your soil is heavy, improve drainage with plenty of horticultural grit. In pots, use a free-draining compost with added grit.

Watering:
Water in after planting, then keep watering light. During summer dormancy, avoid heavy watering and don’t let bulbs sit in soggy soil.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Deadhead after flowering (unless you want seed).
  • Allow foliage to die back naturally, then tidy once it has faded.
  • For Nerine undulata ‘Petronella’, it’s often best to grow in pots and keep frost-free or very sheltered over winter.

Top Tip:
Nerines flower best when they’re left undisturbed, so plant them where you can enjoy them every autumn and avoid moving them once settled. They’re also excellent cut flowers — pick stems as the first blooms open.
