Widely regarded as one of the finest snowdrops ever introduced, Galanthus 'S. Arnott' is celebrated for its large, beautifully proportioned flowers, sweet honey fragrance and exceptional garden performance. Its elegant, pure white blooms are among the largest of any snowdrop, making this award-winning variety a standout in the late winter garden.
Raised in Ireland by the renowned plantsman Samuel Arnott in the late 19th century, this distinguished cultivar has remained a firm favourite for well over a century. The graceful flowers are held on sturdy stems above attractive grey-green foliage, with broad white outer petals surrounding neatly marked inner petals featuring a bold green heart-shaped marking.
Flowering from late winter into early spring, 'S. Arnott' is not only admired for its beauty but also for its delightful honey fragrance, which becomes especially noticeable on mild, sunny days. The early blooms provide a valuable source of nectar for bees emerging from winter, making it as beneficial for wildlife as it is beautiful.
Perfect for woodland gardens, beneath deciduous trees, shaded borders and naturalised drifts, Galanthus 'S. Arnott' is vigorous, dependable and gradually forms impressive clumps that become more spectacular with every passing year.
A true classic and an essential snowdrop for every spring garden.
