A true classic and one of the finest Small-Cupped Daffodils (RHS Division 3), Narcissus 'Barrett Browning' is celebrated for its elegant simplicity and striking colour contrast. First introduced before the Second World War, this award-winning heirloom variety remains one of the most admired daffodils for both gardens and cut flowers.
Each beautifully proportioned bloom features crisp, pure white petals surrounding a small, shallow cup of vivid Valencian orange to scarlet-orange. The brilliantly coloured eye provides a dramatic focal point against the pristine white perianth, creating one of the most memorable spring displays of any daffodil.
Flowering from late March into May, 'Barrett Browning' is renowned for its reliability, strong stems and excellent weather resistance. It looks particularly beautiful planted in generous drifts through lawns, woodland edges and mixed borders, where its clean colours complement tulips, muscari and other spring-flowering bulbs.
Like all Narcissus, it is exceptionally hardy, easy to grow and naturally increases over time, rewarding gardeners with larger displays each spring. Its elegant flowers also make superb cut blooms, bringing timeless beauty indoors.
A distinguished heirloom variety that has earned its place as one of the finest white and orange daffodils ever introduced.
