Adding some excitement, height and colour in the late summer the Knifophia family especially suit those who garden on soils that dry out in summer - they are very drought tolerant plants and love the sun!  Another variety from the Bees stable (an old nursery ‘Bees of Chester’ 1938-1960). Outstandingly bright and eye catching, like a lighthouse these stand out in their sharp lemon yellow glory. Finer in their foliage. From divisions.

Planting Instructions

Good drainage needed, they dislike waterlogging. Best in fairly full sun and in warmer soils. Plant them in good conditions, water as necessary to establish them in the late spring and early summer, remember some slug deterrents such as sheep's wool  around the area  and wait for the summer flourish. If you are planting more than one plant them about 14" (35cm) apart, and if different varieties a little further away from one another. Allow 15" (40cm) spread.
