Dianthus

Dianthus (often called Pinks) are a cottage-garden favourite, loved for their beautifully fringed petals, clove-scented flowers, and neat, evergreen foliage. Flowering from late spring through summer (often longer with deadheading), they form tidy mounds that are perfect for the front of borders, edging paths, rockeries, and containers. Colours range from crisp whites and soft pinks to rich reds and striking bicolours, often with a contrasting eye. Dianthus thrives in sun and well-drained soil, and it’s a brilliant choice for adding long-lasting colour with a lovely fragrance too.
