When to Plant:

Plant Salvia 'Sensation Deep Blue' from spring through to autumn, avoiding periods when the ground is frozen or waterlogged. Spring planting allows plants to establish quickly before flowering.

Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny, open position with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Salvias thrive in borders, gravel gardens, wildlife gardens and patio containers.

How to Plant:

• Depth: Plant with the top of the rootball level with the surrounding soil.
• Spacing: Allow 35–40cm (14–16 inches) between plants.
• Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with horticultural grit and compost to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist during the first growing season. Once established, plants are drought tolerant and only require watering during prolonged dry periods.

Aftercare Tips:

• Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
• Feed lightly in spring with a balanced fertiliser.
• Leave old stems in place over winter to protect the crown, cutting them back in early spring as new growth appears.
