A cheerful and colourful blend of early spring flowers, Anemone blanda Mix produces masses of daisy-like blooms in beautiful shades of blue, pink and white, each with bright golden centres.

Flowering low to the ground above delicate fern-like foliage, these charming Grecian windflowers create a natural carpet of colour that brightens borders, woodland gardens and containers just as the garden begins to awaken after winter.

Native to the Mediterranean region, Anemone blanda has long been treasured for its ability to naturalise gently over time, gradually forming larger drifts with very little maintenance. The mixed colours blend beautifully together, creating a relaxed and natural spring display full of movement and seasonal charm.

Perfect for woodland planting, borders, rockeries, lawns and beneath deciduous trees, the nectar-rich flowers are also highly attractive to early bees and pollinators.

Easy to grow and wonderfully reliable, this mixed collection is ideal for creating colourful spring displays with a soft, natural feel.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Anemone blanda corms in autumn for flowering the following spring. They can also be planted in early spring if conditions allow.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. Anemone blanda is perfect for woodland gardens, borders, rockeries, lawns and naturalising beneath deciduous trees.

How to Plant:

  • Preparation: Soak corms in lukewarm water for 3–4 hours before planting to help encourage faster growth.
  • Depth: Plant corms about 5 cm (2 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space corms approximately 5–8 cm (2–3 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve soil with compost or leaf mould before planting.

Watering:
Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist during active growth, avoiding waterlogged conditions.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering to feed the corms for the following year.
  • Leave undisturbed to naturalise and spread gradually over time.
  • Avoid excessively wet winter conditions.

Top Tip:
Plant in large drifts beneath deciduous trees or through lawns for a stunning naturalised spring display full of soft colour and pollinator-friendly flowers.
