Convallaria majalis Blush

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Convallaria pips or crowns in autumn, winter or early spring while dormant. Plant as soon as possible after receipt for best establishment.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in partial shade or full shade with moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Ideal beneath trees, along shady borders and in woodland-style gardens.

How to Plant:

• Depth: Plant pips so the growing tip sits just below or level with the soil surface.
• Spacing: Space plants approximately 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) apart.
• Soil Prep: Improve soil with plenty of compost, leaf mould or well-rotted organic matter before planting.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil lightly moist during establishment. Convallaria prefers soil that does not dry out completely.

Aftercare Tips:

• Apply an annual mulch of compost or leaf mould.
• Allow foliage to die back naturally in autumn.
• Established clumps can be divided every few years if required.

Top Tip:
Plant near paths, doorways or seating areas where the wonderful fragrance can be fully appreciated during spring.
