One of the most distinctive and recognisable crocuses ever introduced, Crocus vernus 'Pickwick' produces large silvery-white flowers dramatically striped and feathered with rich violet-purple, creating a striking display in the early spring garden.
Named after the famous character from Charles Dickens' The Pickwick Papers, this classic Dutch Crocus has remained a favourite with gardeners for generations. The elegant goblet-shaped blooms appear in late winter and early spring, opening wide on sunny days to reveal bright orange stamens and intricate striping that makes every flower unique.
As a member of the Dutch Crocus group, 'Pickwick' bears large, robust flowers that stand out beautifully in borders, containers and naturalised drifts. The unusual striped petals provide a sophisticated look that complements both traditional and contemporary garden styles.
Easy to grow and highly reliable, this award-winning variety is particularly effective when planted in generous groups, where the striped flowers create a shimmering effect across the garden. The blooms are also highly attractive to early pollinating insects, providing an important source of nectar at a time when few other flowers are available.
A timeless spring favourite and one of the most elegant crocuses you can grow.
