A true classic and one of the most widely planted large-flowered crocuses, Crocus vernus 'Flower Record' produces magnificent goblet-shaped blooms in rich violet-purple shades that bring bold colour to the early spring garden.
Introduced over a century ago, this award-winning Dutch Crocus has earned a reputation for its exceptional vigour, reliability and impressive flower size. The large blooms emerge in abundance during late winter and early spring, opening wide on sunny days to reveal bright orange stamens that provide an important source of nectar for early pollinating insects.
As one of the finest crocuses for naturalising, 'Flower Record' performs beautifully in lawns, beneath deciduous trees, along pathways and throughout mixed borders. Its rich purple colouring stands out wonderfully against fresh spring foliage and combines beautifully with snowdrops, early daffodils and other spring-flowering bulbs.
Easy to grow and long-lived, the corms gradually increase over time, creating larger and more spectacular displays with each passing year.
A deservedly popular variety and one of the very best crocuses for bringing dramatic colour to the start of the gardening season.
