Elegant, graceful and beautifully refined, Gladiolus nanus 'The Bride' is a charming dwarf gladiolus producing pristine white flowers delicately marked with soft blush-pink and creamy highlights at the throat.
Unlike the taller summer-flowering gladioli, Gladiolus nanus varieties flower earlier and have a more natural, cottage-garden character. The slender flower spikes carry several blooms that seem to float above narrow grey-green foliage, creating a light and airy display during late spring and early summer.
Originally bred from South African species, Gladiolus nanus combines the beauty of traditional gladioli with improved hardiness and a more relaxed habit. The flowers are highly attractive to pollinating insects and make excellent cut flowers, lasting well in arrangements while bringing a fresh, romantic feel to the garden.
Perfect for borders, cottage gardens, gravel gardens and containers, 'The Bride' looks particularly beautiful planted amongst alliums, camassias, geums and early herbaceous perennials. Its pure white flowers illuminate borders and blend effortlessly with almost any planting scheme.
A delightful and reliable variety that brings elegance and charm to the early summer garden.
