Planting Instructions
For Pots & Containers
- Choose a container at least 40 cm deep with drainage holes.
- Add a layer of crocks or gravel at the base for drainage, then fill with free-draining compost (mix in a little grit if heavy).
- Plant the bulbs in layers:
- Top Layer (5–8 cm): Crocus ‘Ruby Giant’ – small bulbs scattered, flowers Feb.
- Second Layer (10 cm): Narcissus ‘Tête-à-Tête’ – plant offset, flowers Mar.
- Third Layer (12–15 cm): Hyacinth ‘Blue Jacket’ – upright bulbs, flowers Apr.
- Fourth Layer (15–18 cm): Tulip ‘Nightwish’ – deep planted, flowers Apr–May.
- Bottom Layer (18–20 cm): Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ – largest bulbs at the base, flowers May–Jun.
Tip: Always cover each layer with compost before adding the next. Water well after planting, then keep moist but not soggy over winter.
