The season begins with the cheerful golden blooms of Crocus Golden Yellow, one of the earliest flowers to emerge, providing a welcome splash of sunshine and an important nectar source for hungry bees. As spring gathers pace, delicate clusters of Muscari 'Baby's Breath' weave between the foliage with soft porcelain-white flowers, adding freshness and contrast.

Elegant Narcissus 'Avalon' follows with its large lemon-yellow blooms and softly frilled apricot-yellow cups, bridging the seasons beautifully before the magnificent tulips take centre stage. Tulipa 'Apricot Foxx' produces luxurious, peony-like flowers in glowing shades of apricot, peach and soft pink, while the graceful Tulipa 'Ballerina' finishes the display with fragrant, lily-flowered blooms in rich tangerine-orange that catch the evening light beautifully.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant your Sunset Apricot & Gold Bulb Lasagne Collection during autumn (September–November), before the ground freezes. Autumn planting allows the bulbs to establish strong roots ready for a spectacular spring display.

Where to Plant:
Choose a container at least 35–40cm wide and deep with drainage holes. Position in full sun or partial shade using a good-quality, free-draining compost.

How to Plant:

• Bottom Layer: Plant the Tulipa 'Apricot Foxx' and Tulipa 'Ballerina' approximately 15cm deep.
• Second Layer: Add compost, then plant the Narcissus 'Avalon' approximately 12cm deep.
• Third Layer: Add another layer of compost before planting the Muscari 'Baby's Breath' approximately 8cm deep.
• Top Layer: Finish with the Crocus Golden Yellow approximately 5–8cm deep.
• Cover with compost, water thoroughly and place the container outdoors.

Watering:
Water well after planting. Winter rainfall is usually sufficient. During spring, keep the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged.

Aftercare Tips:

• Feed every two weeks with a high-potash fertiliser once shoots appear.
• Remove faded flowers but allow all foliage to die back naturally to feed the bulbs for next year.
• The bulbs can remain in the container for future displays or be planted into the garden after flowering.

Top Tip:
Finish the container with decorative gravel or bark for a professional look. Position near a doorway or seating area where you can enjoy the changing colours as each layer flowers in succession throughout spring.
