Fresh, cheerful and full of seasonal charm, Fresh Spring Mixture is a beautifully curated assortment of early spring-flowering bulbs, perfect for bringing colour and life to borders, beds and patio pots.

This attractive mixture combines classic Narcissus, vibrant Tulips, delicate Fritillaria and richly coloured Muscari, creating a layered spring display with a lovely balance of height, texture and colour.

The Muscari provide dense blue-purple flower spikes at a lower level, while Narcissus bring traditional spring brightness in yellow and white. Fritillaria add elegant, nodding bell-shaped flowers and a touch of structure, with Tulips following as colourful focal points through mid to late spring.

Ideal for gardeners who want an easy, coordinated display, Fresh Spring Mixture is perfect for containers, spring borders and patio planting. Plant generously for the best effect and enjoy a fresh, uplifting display as the garden wakes from winter.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant the bulbs in autumn (September–December) while the soil is cool and workable. Autumn planting allows the bulbs to establish strong roots before flowering from late winter into spring.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. Fresh Spring Mixture is ideal for borders, grassed areas, orchards, beneath deciduous trees, wildlife gardens and naturalised planting schemes.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 5–15 cm (2–6 inches) deep, depending on bulb size.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs around 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) apart for a natural, full display.
  • Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with compost and horticultural grit to help drainage.

Watering:
Water well after planting to settle the soil. Once established, bulbs usually require little additional watering unless spring is very dry.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Allow all foliage to die back naturally after flowering before cutting or mowing.
  • If planted in grass, avoid mowing until the leaves have yellowed and died back.
  • Leave bulbs undisturbed where possible so they can naturalise and increase over time.

Top Tip:
For the most natural effect, scatter the bulbs across the planting area and plant them where they fall. This creates a relaxed, meadow-like display that supports pollinators throughout spring.
