Richly coloured, delightfully fragrant and wonderfully easy to grow, Muscari aucheri 'Blue Magic' produces dense spikes of vivid cobalt-blue flowers that bring vibrant colour to the spring garden just as winter begins to fade.
Unlike the more common grape hyacinths, Muscari aucheri bears larger, more open flowers with a richer, more luminous blue. 'Blue Magic' is one of the finest cultivars, producing sturdy flower spikes packed with urn-shaped blooms in intense gentian-blue, often with a subtle lighter edge that catches the spring sunshine. The flowers are lightly scented and highly attractive to bees and other early pollinating insects.
Native to the rocky hillsides of Turkey, this hardy little bulb is perfectly adapted to naturalising in well-drained soil. It looks superb planted in generous drifts beneath deciduous trees, woven through borders, edging pathways or spilling from containers. Left undisturbed, the bulbs multiply steadily to create carpets of brilliant blue that return with increasing vigour each spring.
Beautiful partnered with early tulips, dwarf narcissus, crocuses and white grape hyacinths, 'Blue Magic' provides a rich ribbon of colour that unifies spring planting schemes.
A reliable and long-lived spring bulb that brings brilliant colour, fragrance and effortless charm to every garden.
