Very unusually these open white and then develop deep blue bases to the flower whilst the tips remain white and flare open widely. The two-tone colour is a very engaging combination. More or less evergreen these will require protection in the coldest gardens. From 1 litre pots.

Planting Instructions

With South African origins the Agapanthus are all sun lovers, but they would be used to summer rainfall so we suggest they will do better where they aren't too dry. Hence lots of organic matter in the soil to hold the moisture will pay dividends. These are young plants and whilst they should flower this summer they will be better and better in years to come. Plant 1- 2" (25 - 50 mm) deeper than currently potted and allow for a spread of 15" (35 cm). In winter they will be dormant and only on really cold gardens would it be wise to protect or mulch them in winter. To get a more immediately full effect you might cram them in rather tighter together in pots. But remember that pots freeze more quickly and when they do crush their contents in winter so pots need protection. Provide any potted plants regular watering through the summer and some liquid feed occasionally. July - August flowering in white with distinctive blue bases to the flowers, about 18" (50 cm) tall.
