A spring classic of rare elegance, that delights with its large, goblet-shaped blooms in a rich, silken shade of violet-mauve, often veined with subtle lavender. Among the earliest to announce winter’s retreat, these robust Dutch crocuses bring bold colour to the awakening garden. As was once shared on BBC Gardeners’ World, “Bulbs bring shape, surprise and rhythm to borders and pots. They offer bursts of hope just when the garden needs it most.” Few do this with more grandeur than ‘Grand Maitre’.
