Bold, vibrant and wonderfully floriferous, Tulipa 'Night Club' is an outstanding Multi-flowering Tulip that produces an impressive bouquet of three to six flowers from a single bulb. Its richly coloured blooms range from glowing magenta-purple to vivid violet-pink, each with a luminous white centre highlighted by dramatic dark stamens.

Unlike traditional tulips that produce just one flower per stem, 'Night Club' develops a naturally branched stem carrying multiple blooms, creating a spectacular bouquet effect in the garden. The succession of flowers extends the display and provides exceptional value, making it one of the most rewarding tulips for spring planting.

Flowering throughout May, this late-season beauty adds rich colour to borders, patio containers and cutting gardens. The strong stems make it an excellent cut flower, with each stem providing a ready-made arrangement for the vase.

Whether planted in bold drifts or mixed with complementary late-flowering tulips, Tulipa 'Night Club' delivers a vibrant finale to the spring garden. Its multiple blooms also provide an excellent source of pollen for visiting bees during the tulip season.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Tulip bulbs in autumn, ideally from October to December, once the soil has cooled. Planting later in autumn helps reduce the risk of tulip diseases and encourages strong spring flowering.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. 'Night Club' is ideal for borders, patio containers, cutting gardens and mixed perennial beds.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 15 cm (6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with compost and, if necessary, add horticultural grit to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Once established, tulips generally only require watering during prolonged dry spells in spring.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove faded flowers once blooming has finished.
  • Allow the foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering so the bulbs can store energy for next year's display.
  • Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring for healthy growth and abundant blooms.

Top Tip:
Plant 'Night Club' in groups or containers where its bouquet-like stems can be fully appreciated. Its vibrant flowers also make exceptional long-lasting cut flowers.
