Geranium

Hardy geraniums (often called cranesbills) are one of those “plant it once and wonder how you gardened without it” favourites. They’re tough, reliable perennials that bulk up quickly, weave beautifully through borders, and reward you with months of flowers in shades of pink, purple, blue and white. Many varieties are also brilliant ground cover, helping to knit planting schemes together and gently suppress weeds, while their attractive, often scented foliage keeps the garden looking fresh even when they’re not in bloom.
