Sedumn

Sedum (often called stonecrop) is a brilliant, low-maintenance plant that brings texture, structure and late-season colour when other plants are starting to fade. With fleshy, drought-tolerant foliage and clusters of starry flowers that open from late summer into autumn, sedums are perfect for sunny borders, gravel gardens, rockeries and pots. Taller varieties add strong shape in mixed planting schemes, while creeping types make excellent ground cover and edging.

Sedum is also a magnet for bees and butterflies, offering valuable nectar in late season, and the flower heads often look fantastic left standing through winter for extra garden interest. If you want an easy plant that thrives on sunshine and neglect, Sedum is a true garden workhorse.
