Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant bulbs in autumn, from September to November, before the first hard frost.

Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny, well-drained position. Ideal for flower beds, mixed borders, and pots, where their coordinated colours can truly shine. Tulips dislike heavy, waterlogged soils—if needed, improve drainage with grit or compost.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs 15 cm (6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs 10 cm (4 inches) apart.
  • Postion: Place bulbs with the pointed end facing up.

Watering:
Water well after planting to help settle the soil. After that, nature usually takes care of watering during winter.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove spent flowers after blooming, but let the foliage die back naturally—this helps replenish the bulb for next year.
  • Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring, especially if growing in pots.
  • Bulbs can be left in the ground in well-drained soils, or lifted and stored after the foliage has fully yellowed.

Top Tip:
Plant in large groups or drifts for a romantic, painterly effect. This mix is also perfect for cutting, allowing you to bring the soft colours of spring indoors.
