Elegant, sophisticated and wonderfully distinctive, Tulipa 'Exotic Emperor' is an exceptional Fosteriana Tulip that transforms the classic white tulip into something truly extraordinary. Its large, multi-layered blooms combine pristine white petals with soft green feathering, creating an almost peony-like flower of remarkable beauty.
A naturally occurring sport of the famous 'Purissima' (White Emperor), 'Exotic Emperor' retains all the outstanding vigour, reliability and large flower size of its parent while producing beautifully ruffled blooms with extra petals and graceful green flames. As the flowers mature, they gradually open into broad, elegant cups, revealing subtle creamy tones and intricate green markings that make every bloom unique.
Flowering in early to mid-spring, the impressive flowers are carried on sturdy stems above broad grey-green foliage, standing up well to spring weather. Their refined colouring makes them an outstanding choice for elegant planting schemes, blending effortlessly with pastel tulips, blue Muscari, Hyacinths and white Narcissi.
Like other Fosteriana tulips, 'Exotic Emperor' is noted for its excellent perennial qualities and often returns reliably for several years when planted in well-drained soil. The long-lasting blooms are also superb for cutting, bringing sophistication and freshness to spring floral arrangements.
A truly luxurious tulip that combines timeless elegance with exceptional garden performance.
