Radiating the warm colours of a glowing sunset, Tulipa 'Amber Glow' is a magnificent Triumph Tulip whose richly blended blooms seem to capture the very essence of spring. Each flower opens with a luminous amber-yellow base before blending seamlessly through warm orange into rich scarlet-red and deep plum at the tips, creating a spectacular multi-tonal display.

The perfectly formed, cup-shaped flowers are carried on sturdy stems that withstand spring weather exceptionally well, making this variety as reliable as it is beautiful. As the blooms mature, the colours become richer and more intense, giving the impression that every flower has been hand-painted with fiery sunset hues.

Flowering in mid-spring, Tulipa 'Amber Glow' reaches around 30–50cm in height, making it ideal for borders, patio containers and cutting gardens. Its glowing colours combine beautifully with deep purple tulips such as 'Negrita', creamy whites like 'City of Vancouver', or warm apricot varieties for a vibrant, harmonious display.

Its strong stems and long-lasting blooms also make 'Amber Glow' an outstanding cut flower, bringing weeks of colour and warmth indoors.

A vibrant Triumph Tulip that offers dependable performance and unforgettable colour.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Tulip bulbs in autumn, ideally from October to December, once the soil has cooled. Planting later in autumn helps reduce the risk of tulip diseases and encourages strong spring flowering.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. 'Amber Glow' is ideal for borders, patio containers, cutting gardens and formal bedding displays.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 15 cm (6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with compost and, if necessary, add horticultural grit to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Once established, tulips generally only require watering during prolonged dry spells in spring.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove faded flowers once blooming has finished.
  • Allow the foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering so the bulbs can store energy for the following year.
  • Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to encourage strong stems and vibrant flowers.

Top Tip:
Plant 'Amber Glow' with deep purple tulips such as 'Negrita' or soft cream varieties for a glowing sunset-inspired display. Its sturdy stems and vibrant colours also make exceptional cut flowers.
