Home grown tubers, a good proportion of which have silver rather than all green leaves. They will also show a variation in flower colour when they flower. Having been lifted from the tunnel where they have been growing (in the ground) in the hot conditions that prevail, their response to them being brought into the cooler barn may be to encourage them to start growing early. Hardy stalwarts of the spring garden in virtually any conditions where it does not get waterlogged.
This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.
Cyclamen tubers thrive best in lighter soils rich in leaf-mould; if drainage is a problem, lashings of grit may help. Acid to limey pH makes little difference They should all be planted 1" (2cm) deep and about 5" (12cm) apart or dotted about. Do think too about the varied tapestry achievable from their leaves. Perfect companions to aconites, snowdrops and crocus.
